Hate is A Virus

Dear ALPFAmilia,

Asian Hate crimes increased by 150 percent in major cities across the United States from 2019 to 2020, with the NYPD reporting a 1900% rise in NYC alone. StopAAPIHate registered almost 4,000 incidents between March 2020 and February 2021.

As an organization, ALPFA Boston condemns the atrocious acts and killings of innocent Asians that occurred on March 16th, 2021 in the Atlanta area. We also denounce the overall increase in violence and harassment towards the Asian-American community, in solidarity with our friends and family at the Boston Chapter of National Association of Asian American Professionals.

We will not stay silent in the face of hate, and we stand for equity and justice for all our marginalized communities. Our deepest condolences are with the friends and families of the victims of these heinous undertakings.

Today, we are elevating some resources to our communities and will continue to add to this list as new resources are shared.
